This paper characterises and describes Latin borrowings in the specialist language of architecture. The main stress was placed on the history of introduction of those terms as well as the ways of their adaptation. For this purpose, dictionaries of loanwords, etymological dictionaries and terminological dictionaries were analysed. The analysis shows that the Latin language has undoubtedly enriched the terminology of the specialist language of architecture.
